IPL 2019 | Mumbai Indians Bring in Alzarri Joseph for Injured Milne

Mumbai Indians replaced West Indian fast bowler Alan Jerez in the rest of the IPL in place of New Zealand batsman Adam Milne.

Joseph blasted the scene with the ability to bowl fast during the ICC Under-19 World Cup 2016. He picked 13 wickets from six games, including three in the final against India, which helped his side win the championship. Coincidentally, he also dismissed a young Ishan Kishan in the World Cup, with whom he will now share the dressing room.

Joseph has played only seven T20 matches so far and has nine wickets with the best of 4/41 and strike rate of 17.

The young fast bowler received high praise from former West Indian great Ian Bishop and Curtly Ambrose and was eventually tracked fast in the Test team. In the nine test matches played since his debut against India in 2016, Joseph has taken 25 wickets. He has also played 16 ODIs.

This will be his first performance in the IPL.

The second match of the Mumbai Indians is against the Royal Challengers Bangalore in Bangalore on Thursday (March 28). The former champions started their campaign this season with a defeat of 37 runs in the Delhi capital city of Feroze Shah Kotla on Sunday.
