Both Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad have started the IPL-12 on the backfoot. Opening a new campaign with loss is never ideal, but the defeat of the Royals was not without its share of the disputes.

On Monday night Kings XI Punjab captain Ravichandran Ashwin did not cheer Jaipur's franchisee out of his opener and English wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler. A loss in Jaipur's Sawai Mansingh Stadium (SMS), which has long been a fort of Royals, is not ideal because they are ready to make a tough fight against Sunrise in Hyderabad on Friday.

Sunrisers, runners-up of 2018, were impressive in their opening game against Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday afternoon, but their bowlers did not want to stop an Andre Russell from Eden Gardens. Hosts should overcome captain Ken Williamson's injury and face defeat with big Australian fast bowler Billy Stenlake.

The Australian fast bowler provides the speed and bounce of Sunrise's attack, which struggles to keep KKR in control. After failing to defend 13 runs in the last over of Kolkata, Stanlake could be a possible replacement for Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan.

Williamson might need to replace Johnny Bairstow, which means that Bengal wicketkeeper Shreevats Goswami can come in the team and can also be asked to open with David Warner.

Royals, on their part, will need mid-order to support Butler's efforts. Players like former captain Steve Smith, Ben Stokes, Rahul Tripathi and Krishnappa Gautam need to step up with Willow, after their dramatic collapse in their opening match when they lost seven wickets on 16 runs.

To watch out for the players:

David Warner: Aussie opener turned sensational in the IPL after being out for the last season due to the restriction of ball-tampering by Cricket Australia. Warner scored 53 off 53 balls against KKR. Sunrise Southpaw extended the form which not only brought it to the top, but also made one of the most destructive runs in the IPL.

Jos Buttler: The England wicketkeeper-batsman has got a new life in the IPL as he was sent to the top ranks by Rajasthan Royals in the last season. A batsman who loves the ball on the bat, Butler has scored 548 runs in the previous season with an average of 54.8, with 5 fifties. Now he is R. Ashwin has started the 2019 season with a brilliant innings of 69 runs in 43 balls before being controversially by Mankad.

Team news / availability:

Hyderabad: Captain Ken Williamson has recovered from a shoulder injury that kept him out of the opening match. Australian fast bowler Billy Stenlake has also joined Sunrisers and gives additional bowling options to choose Williamson.

Rajasthan: Although there is no concern for injuries to the Royals, the team may have to try out Ashton Turner instead of Steve Smith who were seen in the opening tie. Paceman Varun Aaron, who has been in the middle of the domestic season, can be given a more quick option if he replaces Jaidev Unadkat, who scored 44 runs in three overs against Kings XI Punjab.
